Chinese Giving Circle (CGC) was established in 2016, originating from a charity fundraiser in the Chinese community in New York to raise legal defense funds for Officer Liang. After the event’s success, the remaining funds were retained to help more individuals in need, leading to the foundation’s formal establishment. From its inception, CGC has centered on unity, mutual support, and philanthropy, providing legal aid and financial assistance to vulnerable groups through fundraising events and donations. In its early years, the foundation organized multiple case-based fundraisers, supporting individuals such as elderly victims of violence and teachers suffering from terminal illnesses, gradually building a strong presence within the community.
