The old, unresponsive site has been completely rebuilt with Etch.

Besides the pure Etch-related tasks, there was a quite complex task to be addressed:

The client manages all events in a special event portal, so the task was to retrieve the events from there and display them on the website. Fortunately, the provider offers an XML feed, and with Claude’s help, we built a fairly complex application that reads this feed and temporarily stores it in the transient cache. An additional mu-plugin handles the correct schema and the 301/302 redirects in case an event has already taken place and would otherwise return a 404 error. Within Etch, I loop over the events, display them, and an event detail page handles all the details. I handle a few conditions (displaying the social links on the details page, showing a placeholder image if the customer forgets to upload an event picture, etc.).
