About this site
KANtine is a Dutch social enterprise that helps young people take part in society on their own terms. Many young people want to work, play sport or simply do something meaningful, but standard systems don’t fit them, support feels too formal, or the right place has never been found. This is often the case for young people with autism, ADHD or mental health vulnerabilities.
Rather than putting them in a box, KANtine looks at what a young person can do and wants to do, and then actively helps make it happen. The organisation works along two lines:
- Matchmaking: connecting young people to jobs, sports or leisure activities that genuinely suit them, in a personal and practical way, with guidance for as long as it’s needed.
- Community: a physical KANtine venue where young people can meet, join in and grow, through workshops, events and simply having space to be themselves.
KANtine also works with employers and partners who want to invest in talent and inclusion and are looking for support that works in day-to-day practice.
In 2025 KANtine won the public award of the Ignite Award, the Dutch national programme for social entrepreneurship.
Tagline: “Het KAN wél!” → “It CAN be done!” (a pun on the name KANtine, Dutch for canteen).
