About this site
Tristate Electronic Mfg. is the corporate site for a privately owned company in Hagerstown, Maryland. Founded in 1985, Tristate builds electronics for OEMs in the health/medical, aerospace/defense, industrial/instrumentation, RF/microwave, and communications sectors. The site presents them as a lean, long-tenured partner — over 40 years of contract manufacturing—with ISO 9001:2015 certification, ISO 13485:2016 compliance, ITAR registration, and DFARS/NIST-oriented security posture.
Purpose and audience
The site is built for OEM buyers, quality/compliance reviewers, and operations leads evaluating a contract manufacturer. Content stresses capabilities (SMT and through-hole, box build, X-ray inspection, environmental and functional testing), engagement models (consigned kit vs. turnkey supply-chain management), and soft differentiators: agility, average staff tenure (~14 years), integrity, location near I-70/I-81 and major airports, on-time delivery, and workforce development.
Information architecture
Core pages include Home, Services, About Us (with quoting info, policies, terms, and code of conduct), Certifications, Equipment List, Career Opportunities, and Contact Us. The homepage opens with company positioning, capability overview, quality credentials, and a six-reason “why Tristate” block that also appears on About. Contact funnels to phone, email, and a form for quotes and general inquiries.
Structured content is driven by custom post types rather than one-off static pages:
- Certifications — ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ITAR, Joint Certification Program (DD2345), each with its own detail URL
- Equipment — categories such as SMT, screen printing/dispensing, reflow/wave soldering, inspection, lead forming, cleaning, factory/material control, environmental & functional testing, and miscellaneous
- Articles — news/insights surfaced from About (“Tristate In the News”)
How it’s built
The front end is assembled in Etch with Automatic CSS, so layout and typography lean on a token-based utility system instead of ad-hoc theme CSS. That keeps sections, cards, and title treatments consistent across marketing pages and CPT archives.
Meta Box AIO powers the custom post types and field models behind certifications, equipment, and articles. Editors can update certificates, machine lists, and news without rebuilding page layouts — Etch templates/loops consume that structured data for list and detail views.
Overall, the site is a focused B2B brochure with a clear conversion path (call / contact form), credibility assets (certs and equipment), and a maintainable WordPress stack: Etch + Automatic CSS for the UI layer, Meta Box AIO for the content model.
